Pirates, we have seen them in movies many many times, nevertheless, what if there was a movie that could change completely our view of them? that would make us question the real difference between right and wrong? Well then you need to know that movie already exists, and it is called “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” being a fantastic movie that has re-state the meaning of being the hero or living to full-fill our moral integrity by mixing entertaining and rather different characters with a story that is able to maintain suspense trough to the entire movie.

First of all, to prove why this movie is great we have to start talking about the main character, Jack Sparrow, the one that would prove to be the hero. He's the one that would swear to help the other main character named Will Turner to full-fill his goal of saving the girl he loves ("Well Mr. Turner, I’ve changed me mind. If you spring me from this cell, I swear on pain of death, I shall take you to the Black Pearl and your bonnie lass. Do we have an accord?")fact that makes them being involved in all types of situations, like being constantly persecuted, nevertheless, we found ourselves wanting him to accomplish his own goals, even though we know all he does is to help neither but himself, introducing a new version of anti-hero.

On the other hand, the movie would be able to maintain us entertained due to the line-story that focuses on an ancient curse made to a treasure containing pure Aztec-gold, turning to living-death every human that tries to spend it. Thus, making the watcher wanting to know how did they found it or how can they become alive again. The movie would also try to keep little details in secret in order to reveal them at a certain time in which they would prove to be of vitality to the story, a way in which they assure themselves the audience would be force to be paying attention.

Another thing that would revalidate the point of naming this movie fantastic would involve talking about the moral integrity issue. In usual movies we tend to see this type of hero that is really aware of his moral code and is ready to act no matter the circumstances to help others or to do the right thing all the time, nevertheless, being this a movie about pirates we have to remember that they live by with no moral code whatsoever, with the only rule to follow a code containing pirates own "rules". So, in the movie not only would we see the common selfish pirates that would stay united only if that would help them to achieve their personal interests, but we would also find that we prefer them to “win” rather than to let the RoyalNavy (in charge of "applying" justice) overpower them.

In conclusion, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is an awesome movie not only because it can keep us at the edge all the time, but also because it contains and teach us about this new kind of pirates that despite their so called lack of ethical code they would make us re-state our perspective of morality, or in other words, like Sparrow would say: "Me? I’m dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It’s the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they’re going to do something incredibly… stupid."
